We must be happy and thankful and full of bliss that we are alive, breathing, feeling and thinking.
Too often we take life for granted.
As if it is a normal and matter of fact thing.
But it is actually not.
It is a gift.
And we spend our years unwrapping it.
To be surprised as a child can be for what is discovered.
This if one manages to remain pure and innocent.
In spite of everything.
Let’s actually do this, fervent and loyal blog readers.
Let’s be all surprised here and now and let’s be for a moment full of gratitude for simply being alive.
For being able to breath and be here on this earth.
For ourselves, our loved ones and all the other people.
At Punta Boca del Salado, Baja California, Mexico, there are two daily moments when this particular feeling is strongly experienced.
Before to go to sleep, the Fuso Szulc is left and some distance from the expedition vehicle in the dry riverbed the eyes are pointed to the dark sky.
Usually there are no clouds and never there is artificial light from a town or from houses obscuring the sky.
It is pitch black here except for the light of the moon when shining.
Hence, at this location the stars in the sky can be seen.
And also the Milky Way and other galaxies.
Besides satellites, meteorites and stars falling.
Standing there, watching the sky at the end of a day, is a serene moment.
A moment of feeling in harmony and as one.
The second lucid moment is in the very early morning immediately after sleeping.
The short walk is made to the sea and the eyes point to where the sun will rise.
Deep breaths are taken so that the chest grows in volume and maximum oxygen level is reached.
The vastness of the seascape and sky is experienced and a special, uplifting feeling of a way of being alive is felt.
These extraordinary experiences of having special moments of human life are coming partly because of the situation the protagonist is in.
It cannot be remembered from the past, when living in the city, that these kinds of moments of exhilaration were felt.
The circumstances in a city and being completely embedded by a society more likely make a person experience opposite feelings.
Possibly depressed, frustrated, irritated, dissatisfied and few reasons to be grateful.
To be in nature has a soothing effect.
It balances and harmonizes.
Maybe this can be even felt by a person living in a city reading this very posting?

Michel,
You still have a problem with your donation program. I entered my information 3 times and it always brings me back to the blank form and even though I chose United states, it tries to make me pick a county in England rather than a state. When you have it straightened out let me know and I'll try again.
