Confession on a blog floor

On November 15, 2005 the singer Madonna released an album called “Confessions on a dance floor”.
Recorded in London, UK.
It sold over 8 million copies.

Following in the footsteps of Madonna we publish today a posting called “Confession on a blog floor”.
And a confession of proportions it is going to be.

Usually by ten in the evening the two cousins find themselves together in the living room in front of the large digital flat screen TV.
The beautiful wife of cousin Jerzek has retired herself by then to the bedroom and the children are probably MSN-ing in their own rooms.

This is the golden opportunity for the two callous cousins to change channels and see their most favourite TV program.

Now, what would that be?
Are they changing, when alone, to a soft porno channel enjoying carnal erotic activity?
Fervent and loyal blog readers: it is worse than that.

Start of confession.

In the USA cage fighting has become very popular.
Two guys dressed only in tight hot pants get into an octagonal cage and try to help the other land in hospital.
To achieve this, basically everything is allowed.
Although their fists are protected by a piece of leather, they hit and kick the other however and whenever.

They also strangle, give elbow blows and knee kicks and throw furious fists in opponent’s face as hard as possible.

Naturally, often these men get badly hurt.
Have to be carried out of the cage.
Are bleeding from deep wounds and have swollen faces.
Break their noses.
Get cauliflower-shaped ears.
Lose consciousness.

It is the most cruel and barbarous thing one can see.

The men who do get involved in this activity are usually in excellent shape.
Months and months of hard training and exercising.
Their bodies are muscular and perfect.

But they also look and are like animals.
Bloodthirsty.
Very aggressive.
Ready to destroy.
And to cause the most physical devastation to the other as possible.
Without any mercy or human consideration.

It is like in the days of the Romans over 2000 years ago.
When gladiators were fighting in front of large audiences.
Everything or nothing.
Because for sure cage fighters risk to get wounded suffering for the rest of their lives.

It is beyond comprehension why this savage, primitive, brutal, barbaric, cruel, immoral, respect less, embarrassing, animalistic and uncivilised activity is allowed by the authorities.
And why such extreme violence is permitted to be made public.

It is now on TV and that has made cage fighting even more successful and popular.
Generating huge amounts of money.

And it is this TV program the cousins in Poland are watching many evenings.
For two hours, until midnight, they see fights where men and also women beat each other up in the most disgusting, destructive and devastating ways.
Seeing people behave like the worst animals.
And these two cousins morbidly enjoy this.
They have a certain weird pleasure to see such a disgusting thing.

Very strange phenomenon because they are both against violence.
They hate to see it.
They avoid it at all costs.
They are even both very sweet men.
Who are gentle, most particularly towards ladies.
But then they watch frequently these gladiators try to end the other.

What to say after making such a confession?
To apologise?
To promise to stop watching this program?
Of halting to degrade oneself by not seeing this filth and garbage anymore?
By not allowing this satisfaction to exist in the life ever?

Let’s get on the dance floor and blog.

Human cock fighting?

Somehow, though it seems to satisfy. Maybe it has to do with two individuals, highly trained, focused and desiring to be the very best they can be. How can we criticize somebody who is like that? Just maybe, we view them as heros, or possibly we are living our lives vicariously through them.

Through years of extensive training, what would be extremely painful to us may not be so to them.

In fact, the typical football/soccer player (of any form) will get as many, if not more injuries of a similar type throughout a season.

How about racecar drivers? You think that crashing a McLaren at 250 kph into the barriers is pain free? Don't we watch auto-racing for the crashes as much as for the competition?

One of the most popular shows on television is "Deadliest Catch" and I can guarantee you that we're watching it for the same/similar reasons as people watch cage fighting, football/soccer, and auto-racing. It's our fascination in watching people take themselves to the absolute limits and then pushing themselves past those limits.

The "moral highpoint" of looking down on cage fighting is tenuous at best.

I'm afraid your actions contradict your statement. Maybe you want to be like the above but you must like to see it, or you would shut it off. you're evidently not avoiding it at any cost, but you can still be sweet men, with an odd hobby? :-)

Where to begin...
First off, it is a sport. Like the other comment mentioned, all sports have their injuries. This one just happens to inflict them directly. You talk of the agression. Yes. it is primortal. It is an instinct so embedded in us that we can not, no matter how we try, get rid of it. When your life is threatened you feel the adrenaline. This is "Fight or Flight" These men have mastered the "fight" part of it. As a martial arrtist of over 20 years I am often asked "How can you be so angry to do that to someone else?" I answer a phrase I was taught: "When the fist goes forth, withhold the anger. When the Anger goes forth, withhold the fist" Have you also noticed that after these matches, the contestants often times give each other very respectful hugs and thank each other. Granted when someone starts the sport, they don't get the bigger picture. Once you harness the power to destroy you have the choice to become a bully or a truly powerful man who chooses never to harm anyone. These men (99%) would never lay a hand on anyone outside the ring. This is because they know they don't have to. They have the power to choose. I could go on and on. It is easy to through opinions, everyone has one. It is your decision to understand. That takes a little more effort which most people are not willing to give.
