Waiting for Ferguson 3

Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre has subcontracted the building of the sub frame to a small company run by Eric Ferguson in El Cajon.
A strong man who knows how to weld and who has 4 Mexicans work for him.

He presented Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre with drawings how to build exactly the sub frame and with a budget.
They made a deal.

More than five weeks ago Eric Ferguson came to Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre to pick up the Fuso Szulc.
He took her to his workshop and took off the camper box from the truck.
Next, for three weeks, he did nothing.

Before the pioneering photographer returned to the USA he explicitly asked Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre if the Fuso Szulc was ready.
And the reply was positive.

But on the day of return, eleven days ago, the Fuso Szulc was far from ready.
In fact, hardly anything had been done.
The whole sub frame needed still to be built.

As of then it is life in hotels and waiting.

First, Eric Ferguson promised the Fuso Szulc would be ready on Friday.
Then it would be ready on Saturday.
Next, a firm deal was made with Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre that the Fuso Szulc would be delivered this morning at 8.00 am.

The hotel was left, the luggage in the rental car but at 8.00 am at Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre no Fuso Szulc.
Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre called Ferguson to ask what was going on.
A new promise that the Fuso Szulc would come shortly.

The whole morning was spent waiting.
Because, according to Eric Ferguson, the Fuso Szulc could come any time now.
Therefore reading every damned story in the Los Angeles Times in the rental car.

But no Fuso Szulc ever showed up.

Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre continued to try to reach Eric Ferguson.
But he wouldn’t answer the phone.
The waiting was becoming too stressful.
So it was decided to go to Clairemont Shopping Centre to see a movie.
A silly movie: “Star trek”.
With the iPhone in the hand in case Kearny Mesa Mitsubishi Truck Centre would call to inform that the Fuso Szulc had come.

But no phone call.
And no news.
Another night in a hotel.

It is now eleven days of waiting.
And it starts to affect the morale.
An end is not in sight while not much else can be undertaken.
Because Ferguson is promising that any time he will bring the expedition vehicle and therefore one must be stand-by.

The weather is grey and cool.
Drizzle in the morning.
Somber light.
And it is not so much that a depression is felt but the existential framework is breaking.
It feels that the own line in life has been lost.
A strong feeling of being in the wrong rhythm.
In the wrong energy.
Maybe on a collision course.
But for sure out of the common series of successes.

It is a very unusual situation that has devastating psychological effects.
It is impossible to feel happy these days.
Optimistic.
Content.
Positive.
Impossible to be creative.
To see life as something worthwhile.

A clear sign of the confusion and unbalance the current situation is causing happened two days ago.
After a visit to a shopping centre it was impossible to find the rental car again.
There was a memory where it was parked but it wasn’t there.
The whole parking lot was researched but no rental car to be found.
It became plausible that the car was stolen.
There was security in a truck driving around at the shopping centre and it was considered to stop them and inform that the car could not be found and was probably stolen.
But it was believed this to be too embarrassing and the search for the rental car continued.
Eventually, after half an hour, nervous and upset, the car was found.

This illustrates the state of mind.
The mental condition.
No good, no good.

See a Lawyer! It's suprising what a phone call/letter from an attorney can do to hurry them up!

Unfortunately (I'm not a big fan of lawyers) that's what it takes sometimes!

Good Luck

Hang in there Michel. Ferguson has been progressing even though he cannot fulfill his promises. I think your mental state is proof of why virtue is so important in human society. The lack of it doesn't just effect oneself, but can draw down lots of other people in the process. Mr Ferguson's failings are contagious.
