The Fuso Szulc has arrived safely at Punta Boca del Salado, Baja California, Mexico.
Camp is again next to the rancho of the Gonzales family and the Sea of Cortez.
Here several weeks will be spend to work with the software program Photoshop on the conceptual photography made last summer at the Pacific coast.
While in La Paz yesterday, the Ojeda family was visited.
Don Rafael and his son Erick are good friends and La Paz cannot be visited without seeing the Ojeda’s.
It was at the Ojeda’s that it was learned that the carefully prepared deal to have the terrible dog Gorba be removed from the Gonzales rancho to a rancho of the Ojeda’s had not come true.
It is without doubt a delicate matter.
One must have Kissinger skills to accomplish this target.
Officially Gorba belongs to Alfredo Gonzales.
A man married several times having a range of children and currently a fiancé who lives near San José del Cabo.
Alfredo is a good man.
A friend for over 25 years it has been witnessed how he, in his way, is struggling with life and trying to be happy.
He has a lot of sympathy and understanding.
Gorba has developed this unacceptable habit of going after the goats and killing them after Alfredo would leave the rancho for days at a time to spend time with his fiancé.
Leaving the dog without food and fresh water.
This is not malice of Alfredo.
He simply does not think about taking properly care of his dogs.
After Gorba, as a response, developed this habit of hunting goats, he was chained ever since.
Making the dog more of a bad dog.
Many conversations were held with Alfredo to convince him to give up Gorba and have him go to the rancho of the Ojeda’s where are no goats.
Alfredo loves his dog.
He has a hard time separating of Gorba, in spite of everything.
On the other side, it is not simple to convince people to adopt a dog that has a bad reputation.
But eventually the Ojeda’s accepted.
So far so good and the transaction and adoption was supposed to have taken place while in China.
Yesterday though, Gorba was found attached with a short chain to a car wreck.
Also Alfredo’s other dog was chained.
To another car wreck.
Both dogs were without food.
Alfredo was not there…
Ketcha, Alfredo’s sister in law, was asked later what was going on with the dogs.
She got very upset.
Very angry.
Talking with a high voice.
Alfredo’s dogs had been on a killing expedition again.
Somehow, Gorba had managed to free himself and together with the other dog they had killed another goat.
Goats that belong to Ketcha.
Enough is enough, said Ketcha, I’ll pay someone to kill Gorba.
So, Gorba is now on death row.
But Kissinger has a last chance.
This week Erick Ojeda will come to the rancho to pick up some cows.
All the authority available, all powers of convincing, will be used to get Gorba in the truck of Erick to be transported to the other rancho.
If that is successful, Gorba will live.
If not, he will die.

There is an animal sanctuary in Pescadero (near Todos Santos) which, I believe, has a good reputation.
If they have a fenced enclosure, they may be able to save Gorba. (Of course, be sure to tell them his history, so that they can be sure he is only adopted where he cannot get in trouble over goats.) They are supported entirely by donations, but their suggested donation for a dropoff is quite modest.
