Bloody dog.

Many fervent and loyal blog readers will remember the Mexican dog Gorba.
Who lived at the rancho of the Gonzales family at Punta Boca del Salado in Baja California.

A dog that developed the nasty habit of attacking goats and killing them.

Who was then kept tied with a rope to a tree.

In this miserable situation he lived for more than a year.
Efforts were made to convince the Gonzales family that this was not a good situation for Gorba.
Another rancho was found without goats and eventually permission was required to move Gorba to a new home where he could be free again.

The new rancho belongs to the Ojeda family and yesterday was a meeting with Erick Ojeda.

It was a nice chat about the many things going on in our lives when at one point he said with a big smile on his face:
“Oh, Miguel, by the way, Gorba is dead.”

The story is that Gorba and another dog went by themselves for adventures into the mountains.
The wild land behind the rancho.
The other dog returned eventually to the rancho.
But heavily wounded and they could see it was because of an attack by a wild pig.

They went to look for Gorba and found him massacred by the wild pig.

Erick told that Gorba had a good life at their rancho.
He had gained weight eating dog food with milk everyday.
And had been free to dance and play.
Assisting when cows needed to be round up.

So this is it.
He is dead now.
Bloody dog.

I am sorry to hear about Gorba. I was thinking about him just the other day. It sounds like his life, on the new ranch, were very happy ones. Thanks to you.
